Soldier Creek is the location for the 2019 Strawberry Reservoir Fishout from July 18 to 21. It’s a great stillwater fishery for cutthroats, rainbows and kokanee (if you fish deep). It is also close to several nearby rivers including Currant Creek and the Strawberry River (“The Oasis”) flowing out of Strawberry Reservoir.
The Soldier Creek Campground is a nice campground with flush toilets and water faucets throughout and we will be camping in Loop A. As with all National Forest Campgrounds, there are a large number of walk-up sites, but you should probably make a reservation to make sure you have a space.
A group dinner will be held on Saturday evening and the club will sponsor the main course and chocolate sundaes for dessert. The main course selection will depend on the number of people who sign up. As with the other outings this year, we ask that you bring a side dish or an appetizer for the group.
Please sign up below so we know you’re coming and be especially sure to sign up if you’ll be there for dinner so we can plan accordingly. You can use the Remarks section to tell us if you’re camping or just coming out for Saturday fishing and dinner.
We will provide more information via email to those who sign up as the date gets closer.
