| March 26 | Mike Leigh | The Wasatch Fly Tying and Fly Fishing Expo is rapidly approaching (April 6-7). If you have not attended this, you should definitely stop by. Also, you could VOLUNTEER to work at the show. It is one of our major fund raising activities. You get in to the show for free and you might even learn some stuff in the process. I worked at the show last year and was able to learn some new fly tying techniques and gained some new contacts. It's a lot of fun. To volunteer, contact Gerry Wenner at geraldwenner@yahoo.com. For more information about the show, go to www.wasatchexpo.com. |
| March 22 | Mike Leigh | Western Rivers is offering a women's clinic on April 27-28. The instructor is Molly Semenik, owner of Tie The Knot Fly Fishing (http://tietheknotflyfishing.com/wordpress/). Molly is a Federation of Fly Fishers certified master casting instructor and has been a guide for 12 years. You can learn more about the class at: www.wrflyfisher.com/content.php?pid=151. If you are a woman interested in learning how to fly fish from a professional instructor and guide this would be a great class. |
| February 10 | Bob Dibblee | It's that time of year, the International Sportsman's Expo is March 15 - 18. We need fly tiers to shows kids how to tie. You don't have to be that good. Most of us just have them tie a Wooly Bugger. We would like to have you for 4 hours. You can pick your day and time. Please contact me at 435-640 4635. We need 8 on March 15, 8+ on Fri, 16 on Sat and 8+ on Sunday. All equipment and supplies will be furnished, but if you wish to use your own equipment, that's fine. |
| February 4 | Mike Leigh | If you missed the February meeting, you missed a great presentation by the folks from the North Platte Lodge. If you want to hook into some nice rainbows, you need to head over there. Contrary to popular belief, the river fishes well year-round. Check out their website at www.northplattelodge.com. |
| January 19 | Mike Leigh | As a reminder, we are giving a beginner fly tying class on 1/28, 2/4, and 2/11. The cost is $30 (covers the cost of materials, etc). If you've ever thought about trying to tie your own flies, come out and join us. Even if you know how to tie, but want to learn to do it better, come on out. |
