Crittenden Lake Fishout

We have purchased a 2018 membership for Crittenden Lake, a trophy trout and bass fishery in nearby Nevada. Our membership allows HCFF paid members and one guest to fish the lake for $75 each per day. Mike and Christy Carlson, owners of Pioneer Anglers in Alpine, Wyoming, will entertain us with stories about the Salt River in far western Wyoming. The Salt is a major tributary of the Snake, flowing into Palisades Reservoir. Panguitch Lake Fishout

Panguitch Lake is located 270 miles south of Park City. The word Panguitch means "big fish" in the local Native American language and the lake is full of them. HCFF members march in Park City's Fourth of July Parade alongside Dave Allison’s '57 Chevy pickup truck towing our founding member, Cal Massey’s, self-built drift boat. We promote fly fishing and our Trout Unlimited chapter with signs on Dave’s truck and by shadow casting as we march along the one-mile parade route. We encourage you to bring your family and participate. There are lots of other activities to enjoy in Park City after the parade too.

Due to the Independence Day holiday, the July HCFF meeting will take place on the second Wednesday of July. Wes Johnson, a member of the Utah Fly Fishing Hall of Fame, will talk to us about fishing some special spots in the High Uintas. Wes has a cabin up there and knows the area well. He plans to focus on a couple of the rivers and discuss the timing, flies, and the techniques needed to be successful.

Weber River Cleanup
